A model of the spine, a room of elementary students, and time set aside for learning together.
Anatomy, up close
During visits to elementary classrooms, I introduced students to the spine using an anatomical model. The demonstrations and hands-on activities brought my former surgical field into a school setting.
Making room for questions
This mentoring work was part of a wider commitment to education, alongside long-standing college scholarship support for high school students through the Irving Schools Foundation. The classroom photographs preserve moments of shared learning.
